2024 Registration Information |
ONLINE: Sorry, online registration via RunSignup closed at 11:59 PM EDT on Wednesday 23 October. BY MAIL: It's now also too late to register by mail. Please don't send any entry forms by mail at this point, because we won't get them before the race. Instead, you can just sign up on... RACE DAY: Yes, we will take entries on race morning! Race day registration & check-in will take place in Browntown between 7:45 AM and 8:45 AM. If you really want one of our 2024 beanies, show up earlier than later because our supply of remaining beanies is limited and we could run out! But if we do run out, you automatically get to pay the lower "no beanie" fee as noted below. (If you want to save yourself a few seconds at the registration table, feel free to print out an entry form, fill it out in advance, and bring it with you on race morning. Cash or checks only; we can't process credit cards in Browntown. Checks should be payable to "Karsten Brown". See the sidebar at right for links to entry forms in various formats.) Entry fees If you'd like a royal beanie (a.k.a. knit hat) embroidered with the race logo in white, the base entry fees are $30 in advance or $40 on race day. Without the beanie, it's $24 in advance or $34 on race day (so basically $6 off). Members of the Shenandoah Valley Runners may take a $2 discount (thus paying $28 early or $38 on race day with the beanie, or $22 early/$32 race day without the beanie). SVR members registering online should make sure they are logged into RunSignup using the account associated with their SVR membership, and the discount will apply automatically. If you're interested in joining the SVR, you can sign up on the SVR's RunSignup page; you can also check the status of any RunSignup club memberships here. (Sorry, we've discontinued the old $1 discounts for members of other running clubs, just to simplify things for ourselves [more info].)
Additional 2024 royal blue beanies may be purchased for $10 each while supplies last! Race beneficiaries Although Greasy-Gooney has never been intended as a fundraiser, we will be donating any & all proceeds from the 2024 race to the Browntown Community Center Association and the Humane Society of Warren County. (Each received $720.80 last year thanks to the generosity of our Greasy-Gooney participants!) If you feel like making an additional donation directly to the HSWC to help area animals in need, just head to their web site and click on "Donate"! |
